Our house has been blessed with a princess.
My precious little girl and newest gift from God was born January 20th.
In the past 3 weeks, my hands have been full, but not as full as my heart is. God has special plans for her just as He does for each of us, and I’m in awe of how He begins that plan from the moment of conception.
I can’t begin to put into words all of the lessons I learned from her throughout my pregnancy. Now that she’s here, I’m grateful for the fresh perspective she gives me.
All of the things that seemed important to accomplish on my to-do list immediately became irrelevant. I’ve been soaking up the opportunity to sit on the couch and snuggle her before she’s too big to object. I’ve cherished the opportunity to be a captive audience to my son while he plays and imagines. I’ve grown to appreciate my husband’s willingness to serve me by taking on tasks I usually refuse to let him do.
I’ve actually taken naps. This is something I’ve never done unless I’m sick.
Winters are not generally pleasant for me with all of the germs and unpredictable weather, but God gave us a sweet little bright spot right in the middle of my least favorite time of year. He’s insisted that all of us embrace this season He created for rest after a year full of all kinds of highs and lows.
Having said that, I’m sure it makes sense why my posts are minimal right now. I have a beautiful family to cherish. The words in my heart and head are few while I quietly wonder at how richly I’ve been blessed.
