There are certain times in the day when I just get overwhelmed with the number of things I need to pray for my son. As I sit in the quiet of my living room before he is up, when I watch him wrestle his daddy, and as I cuddle him in my arms in the rocking chair before bed each night, I catch glimpses of a bigger boy, and sometimes even a young man. Then I have to turn off my imagination before I start bawling and just savor that precious moment while thanking God I was allowed to have it.
As a mother, I feel like I just can’t pray enough for this boy. His health, his future, his current choices, his education, his soul – the list is unending, and yet far too often I evaluate how much I’m actually praying for all of these things and I could weep at how much I’ve failed to bring them before the Father.
All of these reasons and so many more are why I am thrilled to participate in the 21 Days of Prayer for Sons Challenge hosted by The MOB Society this coming May 1-21.
